Finally, in Panama, the Ministry of Health has included cannabis on the official list of controlled substances permitted for medical and scientific purposes, according to Resolution No. 200, published yesterday in the Official Gazette.
This is an important step in the implementation of Law 242, which approved the medicinal use of cannabis in 2021. It appears that after four years, cannabis-derived medications will finally be available exclusively under medical prescription. It is important to note that there are still no medications available in the country for doctors to prescribe. We hope that the patient registration program can be implemented soon.
